Fuel Cross Section
- STEEL TOECAP
FUEL toecaps are manufactured from treated steel resistant to a force of 200Joules, thus providing protection against injury caused by impact and compression. All FUEL styles are now fitted with the new ergonomically rounded, wider fitting steel toecap, offering greater space and comfort whilst maintaining the highest standards of safety. - CARBON FIBRE TOECAP
Manufactured from Carbon Fibre resistant to a force of 200Joules. Properties are as for steel toecap. This toecap does not conduct or retain heat and is also transparent under X-rays. - STEEL MIDSOLE
FUEL safety footwear is available with an optional stainless steel midsole for use in work environments with a high penetration risk from sharp objects such as broken glass. The steel midsole is resistant to a 130kg nail driven force. - ANTI-STATIC MIDSOLE
The FUEL footwear range is fitted with carbon-impregnated midsoles for protection. - WHY CHOOSE NITRILE RUBBER AS A SOLDING MATERIAL?
Nitrile rubber is a product of synthetic rubber research during and between the two world wars. Formed in an emulsion process using free-radical initiators, nitrile rubber shows outstanding resistance to oil, with hydrogenated versions demonstrating very high resistance to thermal and oxidative deterioration.
These properties make it an ideal soling material for use on specialised heat resistant safety footwear, comprised of a specially formulated nitrile rubber resistant to 300 degrees Celsius - ideal for use in foundries, smelters, tapping floors and industries producing hot metal shavings during manufacture. - FULL LEATHER UPPER
All FUEL footwear has full leather upper treated for resistance to a wide spectrum of harmful substances commonly found in the industrial work environment. - VAMP LINING
FUEL boots and shoes feature a highly absorbent full vamp lining to ensure comfortable and dry feet throughout the day. - SANS STANDARD
The SANS standards for Safety Footwear are being re-aligned with International Standards and as changes are introduced, SANS 1114 and 1167 will be replaced with SANS 20345.
